Comelec Proclaims Karl Josef Legazpi as New Representative of Pinoy Workers Party-List

Manila: The Commission on Elections (Comelec) has officially proclaimed Karl Josef Legazpi as the new representative of the Pinoy Workers party-list. This announcement was made during a ceremony at the session hall of the poll body's main office, where the Comelec en banc, acting as the National Board of Canvassers, declared Legazpi's new role.

According to Philippines News Agency, Karl Josef Legazpi steps into the position following the resignation of Franz Vincent Legazpi, the first nominee of the party-list. Interestingly, Karl Josef was not initially included among the group's 10 nominees. However, circumstances within the party-list led to his unexpected appointment. Comelec Chairperson George Garcia explained that the party-list expelled all its nominees after some were found to be involved in establishing a new party-list, while others took on roles in another group.

Chairperson Garcia refrained from disclosing the identities of the expelled nominees or the names of the new party-list groups they were associated with. The Pinoy Workers party-list secured a seat in the May 2025 midterm polls, leading to this proclamation of a new representative.
