Comelec Urges Cordillera Voters to Utilize Online Precinct Finder

Baguio City: The Commission on Elections (Comelec) in the Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR) has urged the public to check their assigned precincts through the online precinct finder, which also confirms their status as active voters.

According to Philippines News Agency, Comelec-CAR Regional Director Julius Torres emphasized the utility of the precinct finder as the fastest way to verify registration details, including precinct number and voting center. This tool is accessible to anyone with internet access.

Comelec has announced the activation of the online precinct finder, facilitating easy access to crucial information for voters on election day. Voters are encouraged to visit https://precinctfinder.comelec.gov.ph/voter_precinct and select either the 'local' or 'overseas' voter option.

To use the online tool, voters need to input basic information such as their first name, middle name, last name, and place of registration-specifically, the province and city or municipality. After entering these details, clicking the 'search' button will display the polling place, precinct number, and their voting status.

Torres also mentioned that voters have the option to visit local Comelec offices for first-hand verification of their registration status. A voter might be tagged as inactive due to misspelled names, deactivated voting records from failure to vote twice, or simply because of non-registration.

He stressed that checking precincts in advance could prevent inconvenience on election day. The Cordillera region comprises 1,105,063 registered voters and 1,963 clustered precincts across 1,428 voting centers.
