Albay: The Police Regional Office in Bicol (PRO-5) successfully apprehended a Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) most wanted individual facing murder charges in a targeted manhunt operation in Rapu-Rapu, Albay over the weekend.
According to Philippines News Agency, PRO-5 Director Brig. Gen. Nestor Babagay Jr. identified the suspect as 'Batista,' 38, a fisherman originally from Malolos City in Bulacan and currently residing in Bacon District, Sorsogon City. The capture of the suspect, who carries a monetary reward of PHP135,000, marks a significant achievement for the police force.
Babagay expressed appreciation for the operating teams, highlighting their continuous effort and collaborative approach. "This arrest is proof of our tireless commitment to bring criminals to justice through sustained, intelligence-driven, and coordinated police operations," he stated. He emphasized the ongoing efforts under the Enhanced Managing Police Operations initiative to locate and apprehend other wanted individuals in the Bicol region.
