Bugasong: An additional 343 rice and corn farmers from the Municipality of Bugasong will receive their aid under the Presidential Assistance for Farmers and Fisherfolk Program (PAFFP) on Friday. 'The 343 farmers are registered with the Registry System for Basic Sectors in Agriculture (RSBSA) and actively tilling a farm lot of two hectares and less,' Sonie Guanco, Department of Agriculture-Agricultural Program Coordinating Office (DA-APCO) head in Antique, said on Wednesday.
According to Philippines News Agency, in an interview, Guanco stated that PAFFP targets 50,749 farmers in Antique, each entitled to PHP2,325 aid. He mentioned that around 14,000 farmers, including the 343 farmers from Bugasong, have yet to claim the assistance.
'We still have an ongoing payout in the different municipalities of Antique for the around 11,000 rice and corn farmer beneficiaries left,' Guanco added.
