Tandag city: The Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) 13 has facilitated the distribution of electronic land titles (e-titles) to 4,342 Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries (ARBs), encompassing approximately 10,130.41 hectares of land. This event took place in Tandag City, with DAR Undersecretary Kazel Celeste and DAR-13 Director Merlita Capinpuyan leading the efforts.
According to Philippines News Agency, the distribution also included regular land titles for 373 ARBs, covering 507.90 hectares as part of DAR's Regular Land Acquisition and Distribution program. Marife Maratos, an ARB from Barangay Roxas, Tubajon, Dinagat Islands, expressed gratitude for receiving her e-title and acknowledged the government's support through the DAR's initiatives.
Another beneficiary, Joseph Songodanan from Tagabaka, Hinatuan, Surigao del Sur, highlighted the significance of the DAR's Support to Parcelization of Lands for Individual Titling (SPLIT) program, which enabled his family to secure a separate land title for their three-hectare land.
In addition, DAR-13 distributed Certificates of Condonation with Release of Mortgage (COCROMs) to 6,167 ARBs, amounting to PHP423.6 million and covering 11,727.10 hectares. This issuance is part of Republic Act 11953, known as the New Agrarian Emancipation Act, signed by President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. in July 2023, which condones all unpaid amortizations, interests, and penalties for lands awarded under the Comprehensive Agrarian Reform Program.
