Davao City Gov’t Issues Guidelines for Undas Cemetery Visits

Davao city: The city government has released guidelines for cemetery visits in observance of All Saints' and All Souls' Days, also known as Undas. In a public advisory, the city announced that public cemeteries will be open from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. between October 30 and November 3. A 'no overnight stay' policy will be strictly enforced in public cemeteries, while private cemeteries may set their own operating hours.

According to Philippines News Agency, visitors using private vehicles should note that a 'one entrance, one exit' traffic scheme will be implemented. Medical tents will be stationed at the entrances of all public cemeteries to address emergencies. To maintain peace and order, the city has issued a list of strictly prohibited items and activities. The use of drones and carrying deadly weapons are banned. Additionally, visitors are discouraged from wearing jackets, bringing backpacks, playing loud music, or bringing alcoholic beverages. Gambling, loitering, and the entry of scavengers will also not be allowed.

The City Economic Enterprises (CEE) will suspend burial and cremation services from October 30 to November 3. Guests are urged to clean their areas before leaving and to follow instructions from the Safety and Security Cluster.
