Davao Norte Town Coop Receives P5-M Livestock Aid

Davao City: The Dagohoy Multipurpose Cooperative (DMPC) in Talaingod, Davao del Norte, is set to receive a PHP5 million bio-secured swine facility. This initiative falls under the Department of Agriculture-Davao Region (DA-11) Integrated National Swine Production Initiatives for Recovery and Expansion (INSPIRE) project.

According to Philippines News Agency, DA-11 Director Macario Gonzaga announced that the facility will include 100 heads of swine for grow-out, along with necessary feeds and biologics. The project is designed to support modern facilities, biosecurity measures, and other essential components such as initial stock purchases, equipment, and facility repairs.

Gonzaga emphasized that the system is aimed at being a sustainable source of quality hogs for the local market. It will assist in the calibrated repopulation and expansion of production farm clustering. The initiative is also intended to ensure food security and provide additional income for farmer cooperatives.

Gonzaga further stated that the DA's livestock program will continue to extend similar support to more farmers' organizations and cooperatives in the future.
