Davao Vet Office Offers Free Animal Services This June

Davao: The city government has announced an initiative to provide a range of free veterinary services for cats, dogs, and other animals in Davao throughout June. This effort aims to support the health and well-being of local pets and livestock.

According to Philippines News Agency, the Davao City Veterinarian's Office (CVO) will deploy teams to various barangays to administer free anti-rabies vaccinations and castration for cats and dogs. The Veterinary Integrated Barangay Extension Services (VIBES) program will also offer pregnancy diagnosis and artificial insemination for large cattle and carabaos, deworming for livestock and poultry, consultation and treatment for livestock and poultry, Hemosep vaccination for livestock, and vitamin supplementation.

The CVO stated that they are committed to making veterinary services accessible through scheduled barangay visits and participation in barangay caravans. This initiative is part of a broader strategy for rabies control and animal husbandry disease prevention and control.

Additionally, the CVO will implement synchronization procedures, which involve hormone injections to induce estrus in large cattle. Residents are encouraged to check the schedule of barangay visits and available services, as these may be subject to change.
