Davao: The Department of Trade and Industry in Davao Region (DTI-11) announced Tuesday that the area's finest products will be showcased in Metro Manila for the launch of the 'Madayaw! The Davao Region Trade Fair' scheduled from Dec. 4 to 7 at Shangri-La Plaza in Mandaluyong.
According to Philippines News Agency, the initiative is supported by the Tatak Pinoy Program and the Coconut Farmers and Industry Development Plan (CFIDP), aiming to generate PHP5 million in sales by positioning Davao's micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) for global competition. DTI-11 regional director Romeo Casta±aga emphasized that the trade event is a direct response to the call for national industrial transformation under the Tatak Pinoy Strategy (TPS).
"This is a pivotal moment for our MSMEs. We are not just selling products here, we are showcasing the enhanced, sophisticated quality that defines the new generation of 'Made in the Philippines' goods," Casta±aga stated. He expressed enthusiasm about the excellence of Davao products and their potential for expansion, highlighting world-class products such as specialty cacao, manufactured food, intricately crafted wearables, and home items.
The three-day event is expected to increase Davao Region's contribution to the national economy by ensuring that the 20 participating MSMEs gain significant market exposure and opportunities. The fair will feature a special pavilion showcasing products from the One Town One Product (OTOP) program and Presidential Awardees, including manufactured foods, high-end wearables, home goods, and creative items.
"We believe that through business matching and this national exposure, our Davao brands will strengthen their position in the domestic market and be ready to confidently compete on the global stage," Casta±aga added.
