Baguio City: The Department of Education in the Cordillera Administrative Region (DepEd-CAR) is calling on volunteers to participate in the annual "Brigada Eskwela" (School Brigade) scheduled from June 9 to 13. This initiative aims to prepare schools for the upcoming academic year, ensuring that learners benefit from a conducive learning environment.

According to Philippines News Agency, the cooperation and generosity from various sectors are crucial for the success of this event. DepEd-CAR Director Dr. Estela Cari±o emphasized the importance of community involvement and urged the public and partners to contribute to the Brigada Eskwela efforts. In an interview on Friday, Cari±o stated, "We invite the public, our partners, please join us again for the Brigada Eskwela."

Cari±o highlighted the impact of the initiative on the educational landscape, noting that it alleviates the burden on learners who would otherwise spend valuable school time addressing classroom issues. The activities carried out during Brigada Eskwela ensure that students can focus on their studies rather than worrying about fixing classrooms, surroundings, or finding desks.

Cari±o also appealed to the Philippine National Police, a consistent partner in previous Brigada Eskwela events, to continue their support. Despite their focus on peace and order, she expressed hope that they could still participate in the school preparation activities.

The Brigada Eskwela involves volunteers from different community sectors who contribute not only materials but also their time and effort. They engage in tasks such as repairing, cleaning, and repainting school facilities, ensuring that schools are ready to welcome students for the new academic year.
