DICT Lauds Telcos for Swift Reconnection in ‘Habagat’-Hit Areas

The department of information and communications technology (dict) has recognized telecommunications companies for their swift response in restoring connectivity in areas affected by heavy rains brought by the southwest monsoon or 'habagat'. in a statement on thursday:mart, Globe, and DITO for their immediate action and continuous restoration efforts following the onslaught of severe weather.

According to Philippines News Agency, the quick recovery of communication services supports President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.'s call to ensure uninterrupted connectivity during calamities. The DICT attributed the coordinated response to Digital Bayanihan, a joint initiative between the government and the private sector aimed at maintaining connectivity and delivering services to Filipinos in need.

"Maraming salamat sa ating telcos sa pakikipagtulungan para mapanatiling konektado ang bawat Pilipino. Sama-sama nating isulong ang isang mas matatag, resilient at konektadong Bagong Pilipinas (Thank you to our telcos for their cooperation in keeping every Filipino connected. The agency reaffirmed its commitment to working with industry partners to ensure that communication services remain reliable during disasters.
