DICT Platforms Earn Twin Recognitions at GovMedia 2025

Manila: The Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) received two awards from GovMedia 2025, an institution that recognizes outstanding government projects in Asia. The agency bagged the Digital Transformation of the Year for its eGovDX platform and the E-Governance Project of the Year for the eGovPH Super App at Marina Bay Sands in Singapore on Thursday.

According to Philippines News Agency, Secretary Henry Rhoel Aguda stated in a news release over the weekend that these projects are part of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.'s directive to streamline government services by automating crucial processes. Aguda highlighted that the initiatives showcase the world-class talent of Filipinos, aimed at serving the interests of citizens, particularly in underserved areas, and are a testament to their ingenuity.

The eGovDX platform integrates government platforms to facilitate secure data sharing across agencies, having recorded more than 480 million transactions across 1,000 government systems to date. Meanwhile, the eGovPH Super App serves as a one-stop digital platform that allows Filipinos convenient access to government services anytime and anywhere.

This innovation signifies a significant advancement in the administration's efforts to simplify bureaucratic processes and empower citizens, especially small business owners, to access government services from the comfort of their homes. Aguda emphasized that their efforts aim to reduce red tape, avoid delays, and make services easily accessible to citizens in the digital age, eliminating the need for long queues or exposure to the elements.

The DICT stressed the importance of expanding digital platforms and enhancing connectivity through initiatives like eGovDX and eGovPH, as these are crucial for bridging the gap between the government and its citizens, particularly in remote areas. Aguda stated that this is the essence of Digital Bayanihan under President Marcos' Bagong Pilipinas initiative, ensuring access to government services, opportunities, and education for all Filipinos.

Additionally, the Department of Migrant Workers was recognized for its Anti-Illegal Recruitment and Trafficking in Persons (AIRTIP) program as the Campaign of the Year under the Labor Category - Philippines, and the OFW Hospital in Pampanga was awarded Public Facility of the Year under the Health Category - Philippines.
