Taguig City: Russian vlogger Vitaly Zdorovetskiy is back with the Bureau of Immigration (BI) after posting bail. The internet content creator was transferred back to the BI Warden Facility at Camp Bagong Diwa after posting bail before the Regional Trial Court (RTC) branch 153 in Taguig City on June 18.
According to Philippines News Agency, BI Commissioner Joel Anthony Viado stated in a news release that despite Zdorovetskiy posting bail for his local cases, he remains in BI custody due to an ongoing deportation case. Viado emphasized that Zdorovetskiy is considered an undesirable alien and will not be allowed to roam freely.
Zdorovetskiy will remain at the BI facility until he is required to appear in court. Prior to his return to the BI, he was held at the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology facility in Taguig on June 11 in connection with local cases, including unjust vexation.
Viado further noted that although Zdorovetskiy has a deportation case pending, he will not be deported until all local cases are resolved and any sentences served. The commissioner stressed the importance of upholding justice and ensuring that foreign visitors respect local laws.
Zdorovetskiy was initially arrested in Pasay City on April 2 after being labeled an undesirable alien due to complaints about his behavior, which allegedly included harassment and insults aimed at Filipinos to enhance his YouTube content.
