Cagayan de oro: The Department of Migrant Workers in Northern Mindanao (DMW-10) has partnered with 27 agencies, institutions, and organizations to strengthen its recently launched reintegration program for Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs). This collaboration was formalized through the signing of a memorandum of agreement with the 27 groups, marking a significant step in reinforcing the National Reintegration Network (NRN) for returning OFWs.
According to Philippines News Agency, DMW-10 officer-in-charge Emmanuel Toledo emphasized the challenges faced by OFWs working overseas and their quest for opportunities upon returning home. He highlighted the vision of creating a Philippines where returning home signifies the beginning of new and endless possibilities for these workers.
The DMW, in collaboration with the Department of Labor and Employment-10 and the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration-10, spearheaded the launch of the NRN. This initiative represents a united effort to support OFWs through sustainable reintegration and livelihood opportunities, ensuring their successful transition back into the local community.
During the event, 59 completers were awarded seed grants under the "Sa Pinas, Ikaw ang Ma'am at Sir" program. Additionally, 64 beneficiaries received support through the "Livelihood Program for OFW Reintegration," and 20 recipients of the Aksyon Fund were recognized for their remarkable determination and inspiring reintegration journeys.
