DOJ Files Charges Against Marikina Lawmaker for Sexual Assault and Acts of Lasciviousness

Manila: Criminal charges for sexual assault and acts of lasciviousness against a Metro Manila lawmaker have been filed before the courts by prosecutors, the Department of Justice (DOJ) confirmed Tuesday.

According to Philippines News Agency, DOJ spokesperson Polo Martinez confirmed that two female police officers detailed as security personnel have filed four counts of sexual assault and one count of acts of lasciviousness against Marikina Rep. Marcelino "Marcie" Teodoro. "The four (4) Informations for Sexual Assault were filed with the RTC (regional trial court), while the Information for Acts of Lasciviousness was filed with the Metropolitan Trial Court (MeTC), which has jurisdiction over the latter offense," Martinez said.

The informations have already been filed with the Regional Trial Court of Marikina along with a transmittal of the records of the cases. The cases are now under the court's jurisdiction and shall proceed in accordance with the Rules of Court for the conduct of trial, he added.

In 2025, one of the cops filed a complaint against the former Marikina mayor for alleged acts of lasciviousness early in her assignment. The second complainant alleged that the lawmaker committed sexual assault and acts of lasciviousness. Teodoro has denied the complaints.
