Northern mindanao: The Department of Labor and Employment in Northern Mindanao (DOLE-10) announced the successful facilitation of PHP32 million in monetary benefits from labor dispute settlements over the past six months.
According to Philippines News Agency, DOLE-10 revealed that from January to June 2026, the agency assisted 903 workers through the Single-Entry Approach Program. Employers participated in conciliation and mediation sessions, leading to resolutions. As a result, 695 workers received a total of PHP32,227,416.28 in back wages, separation pay, unpaid salaries, and other legally due claims.
The region achieved a settlement rate of 89.10 percent, demonstrating the program's impact. DOLE-10 Director Joffrey Suyao emphasized the program's role in fostering dialogue and mutually acceptable solutions between workers and employers. "SEnA maintains industrial peace and ensures timely access to justice for workers and employers alike," Suyao stated.
Workers from Misamis Occidental and the region expressed that receiving their claims allowed them to move forward, particularly in starting their own livelihood ventures. Under the SEnA framework, employers and workers can settle disputes amicably, preventing escalation to arbitration. Trained SEnA officers assist parties in resolving disputes within a stipulated period, thus promoting harmonious labor-management relations.
