DOLE Assists Over 1,300 Soccsksargen Youth Through Internship Program in 2025

Soccsksargen: The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) Regional Office 12 has successfully assisted 1,315 youth aged 18 to 30 years through the Government Internship Program (GIP) in 2025. The initiative aims to bolster the employability of young individuals in the region by providing them with practical work experience.

According to Philippines News Agency, the DOLE Regional Office stated that the beneficiaries participated in three to six months of paid internships, allowing them to acquire practical skills essential for enhancing their competitiveness and readiness for future careers. As of November 2025, 86 GIP beneficiaries have already secured employment, either being absorbed by partner government offices or hired by private establishments.

The program, implemented in collaboration with government agencies and local government units, focuses on enhancing employability and providing hands-on work experience. It supports the transition from school to work for out-of-school youth, graduates, and those from low-income families.

DOLE 12 officer-in-charge Regional Director Raymond Fel Sajor emphasized that the GIP is part of broader youth employment and social protection initiatives. These efforts contribute to human capital development while providing partner institutions with additional manpower support. Beneficiaries received a stipend aligned with existing guidelines while engaging in structured and supervised work environments.

Under the current administration, DOLE-12 remains committed to implementing programs that empower youth, enhance employability, and promote inclusive social and economic growth across Soccsksargen communities.
