Dumaguete City: The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE)-Negros Oriental Field Office has disbursed over PHP1.75 million in cash-for-work assistance to 351 beneficiaries from Tayasan town. This distribution took place during a ceremonial payout at the Robinsons Place shopping mall, coinciding with the Independence Day job fair.
According to Philippines News Agency, the beneficiaries are set to receive PHP5,010 each for participation in a 10-day work program. Tasks included sweeping streets, cleaning canals, and tree planting, as designated by the barangay.
Raizza Phoebe Rubia, the DOLE-Negros Oriental information officer, noted that only 10 of the TUPAD beneficiaries attended the job fair for the ceremonial payout. The remaining participants will engage in another activity at the Tayasan public market later in the afternoon.
To facilitate the payment process, codes were distributed to the beneficiaries, enabling them to collect their salaries from Palawan Express Pera Padala.
