Negros: The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) has disbursed PHP831.626 million in Emergency Cash Transfer (ECT) assistance to households affected by Typhoon Tino in the Negros Island Region (NIR). The disbursement, which began in mid-February, has reached 139,603 beneficiaries across 12 local government units (LGUs) by March 7.

According to Philippines News Agency, the payout represents a 70.23 percent accomplishment rate. The ECT program is designed to assist families in meeting immediate and basic needs as they recover from disaster impacts. Beneficiaries with severely damaged homes received PHP10,325 each, while those with less damage received PHP5,369.

The LGUs benefiting from the program include Bago City, which served 15,892 beneficiaries with PHP93.268 million, and Binalbagan, with 11,403 beneficiaries receiving PHP62.288 million. Himamaylan City assisted 28,250 beneficiaries with PHP151.674 million, and Hinigaran supported 22,972 beneficiaries with PHP138.933 million. Isabela and La Carlota City distributed PHP94.327 million and PHP92.201 million to 14,207 and 15,097 beneficiaries, respectively.

Additional LGUs included La Castellana, aiding 17,511 beneficiaries with PHP100.122 million; Moises Padilla, serving 2,149 beneficiaries with PHP22.188 million; and Pulupandan, assisting 3,740 beneficiaries with PHP26.998 million. San Enrique, Valladolid, and Canlaon City also received allocations, benefiting 3,586, 1,843, and 2,953 residents with PHP21.091 million, PHP10.157 million, and PHP18.374 million, respectively.
