Manila: The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) is expanding its Pamilya sa Bagong Pilipinas (PBP) mobile registry hubs to more shopping malls nationwide to make its non-monetary social protection programs more accessible to communities.
According to Philippines News Agency, DSWD spokesperson Assistant Secretary Irene Dumlao encouraged families to visit the mobile hubs for onsite profiling so they can be assessed and matched with appropriate social welfare programs. Dumlao emphasized the importance of these scheduled hubs in assessing families' specific needs through onsite profiling, ensuring efficient linkage to the right social welfare programs. By setting up these registration sites in highly accessible locations, the initiative aims to ensure that no Filipino family is left behind in the pursuit of a more inclusive Bagong Pilipinas.
Dumlao stated that the DSWD's Social Technology Bureau (STB) would continue providing regular updates on the rollout of the Pamilya sa Bagong Pilipinas mobile hubs across participating SM malls. However, she also advised clients that the scheduled implementation of the registration hub at SM Southmall this week has been postponed to a later date.
The next round of PBP mobile hub operations is scheduled from July 28 to 30 at SM BF Para±aque, SM City Bacolod's Government Service Express (GSE), and SM Center Tuguegarao Downtown. Additionally, families in Agusan del Norte can visit the PBP hub on the second level of Robinsons Butuan from July 20 to 22, with continued operations every Monday to Wednesday until August 31.
The PBP hub serves as a multi-service center that conducts onsite profiling and registration through the PBP Registry, allowing families to be properly assessed and referred to DSWD programs that directly address their needs. Beneficiaries visiting the mobile hubs are advised to bring their Philippine Identification System (PhilSys) IDs to facilitate faster registration and matching.
The DSWD stated that the strategic deployment of the mobile hubs supports the global call to strengthen family-oriented policies by increasing public awareness of and access to targeted government assistance. Dumlao expressed hope that many more families would benefit from this initiative as the agency itself moves closer to their locations.
The Pamilya sa Bagong Pilipinas initiative is a directive of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. aimed at streamlining access to government programs and bringing services closer to every Filipino under the Bagong Pilipinas (New Philippines) agenda.
