Manila: The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) is seeking feedback and recommendations from Social Welfare and Development Agencies (SWDAs), partner organizations, and other stakeholders on the implementation of its guidelines regulating SWDAs and their social welfare and development programs and services.
According to Philippines News Agency, the DSWD announced this initiative in a social media post as part of its ongoing review and enhancement of Memorandum Circular (MC) No. 18, Series of 2024, known as the 'Omnibus Guidelines on the Regulation of SWDAs and Their Social Welfare and Development Programs and Services.' The document is available on the official Facebook page of the DSWD Standards Bureau (SB), @DSWDStandardsBureau.
DSWD Assistant Secretary Irene Dumlao has invited relevant agencies and stakeholders to share their insights and recommendations regarding the implementation of MC No. 18. Dumlao emphasized the importance of receiving feedback to improve guidelines, processes, and regulatory services for the sector.
The DSWD's call for comments includes an interest in stakeholders' experiences and suggestions on various aspects such as provisions, requirements, and procedures, which might require clarification or improvement. This review is part of the department's commitment to refining systems and processes to ensure the quality and accountability of social welfare and development services.
The feedback obtained through this consultation will contribute to the ongoing review and enhancement of the guidelines, aiding in the development of more effective regulatory policies for SWDAs. The DSWD stresses the significance of stakeholder participation in maintaining a regulatory framework that aligns with the realities faced by organizations offering social welfare and development services.
