DTI Unveils 2025 School Supply Price Guide with Notable Price Drops

Manila: The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) released the 2025 Gabay sa Pamimili ng School Supplies on Friday, aligning with the upcoming start of classes on June 16.

According to Philippines News Agency, the latest school supply price guide features 195 products across 12 categories, with 29 items seeing price reductions, 17 items experiencing price hikes, and 101 items maintaining stable prices. Additionally, the guide introduced 48 new items to the list.

Notably, four types of notebooks had their prices reduced by PHP5 to PHP10, while 24 varieties of pad papers experienced price cuts ranging from PHP1 to PHP6. Furthermore, one pencil brand decreased its price by PHP5.

DTI Secretary Ma. Cristina Roque highlighted the initiative as part of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.'s Bagong Pilipinas agenda, emphasizing the DTI's commitment to providing Filipino families with affordable school supplies. She stated, "We know how challenging it can be for parents to prepare their children for school, so this price guide is our way of easing that burden - making sure students can return to the classroom equipped, confident, and ready to learn without putting too much strain on the family budget."

The 2025 price guide reveals that notebook prices range from PHP15 to PHP52, while pad papers are priced between PHP15 and PHP48.75. Pencils are available from PHP11 to PHP24. Other essential items like ballpens, sharpeners, and rulers are priced from PHP3 to PHP33, PHP15 to PHP69, and PHP16 to PHP39, respectively.

Crayons, depending on the quantity, are priced from PHP12 to PHP114, whereas erasers range from PHP4.50 to PHP20 based on size. The comprehensive school supply price guide is accessible for download on the DTI website.
