Manila: The prevailing easterlies will cause scattered rains and thunderstorms over several parts of the country, the weather bureau said on Wednesday. These areas are the Bicol Region, Quezon, Marinduque, Romblon, Oriental Mindoro, Northern Samar, and Eastern Samar, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said. Moderate to heavy rains in those areas could result in flash floods or landslides.
According to Philippines News Agency, PAGASA weather specialist Chenel Dominguez mentioned that Metro Manila and the rest of the country will experience fair weather. "Expect warm and humid weather, especially at noon. Isolated rain showers caused by localized thunderstorms are also likely," she said. The highest forecast temperature is up to 34 °C in Zamboanga and Davao. Meanwhile, the heat index or the temperature felt by the human body when relative humidity is combined with actual air temperature, is forecast to peak at 41 °C in Catarman, Northern Samar, and 40°C in Zamboanga City and Cotabato City.
Light to moderate winds and slight to moderate seas still prevail across the archipelago. No low pressure area is being monitored for possible tropical cyclone formation, PAGASA said.
