Eligible Government Employees to Receive 2024 Performance-Based Bonus This Year – Malaca±ang

Manila: Eligible government employees are expected to receive their 2024 Performance-Based Bonus (PBB) within the year, Malaca±ang announced on Thursday. Palace Press Officer Claire Castro confirmed that funding for the 2024 PBB has been allocated under the 2026 General Appropriations Act (GAA).

According to Philippines News Agency, Castro noted that the bonus could potentially be distributed earlier, subject to the implementation schedule. 'Inaasahang maipagkakaloob ngayong taon. Baka mas maaga pa. Ang pondo para rito ay nakapaloob sa (The bonus is expected to be released this year, possibly even earlier. The funding for the 2024 PBB is included in the) FY 2026 General Appropriations Act,' Castro remarked.

The Office of the President (OP) has given the green light for the distribution of the 2024 PBB to qualifying government employees, following a thorough review by the technical working group established under Executive Order (EO) No. 61, signed in 2024. EO 61 aims to enhance government performance management and incentives through a more streamlined and simplified system.

The PBB serves as a performance-based incentive for eligible personnel in government agencies that meet the stipulated requirements of the government's performance management system. To qualify for the bonus, an agency must achieve an overall score of at least 70 points according to the scoring system outlined in the memorandum circular (MC) issued on July 3. Agencies scoring below 4 in any eligibility criterion will be subject to exclusions.

The memorandum circular specifies that units and individuals, including the head of the concerned unit, found to be primarily responsible for any deficiencies will be "isolated and excluded from the grant of the FY 2024 PBB."
