Manila: President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. has appointed Jorjette Barrenechea Aquino as Undersecretary of the Presidential Communications Office (PCO). Aquino is set to replace PCO Undersecretary Cherbett Karen Maralit, according to her appointment paper dated January 23, which was made public on Monday. Before her new role, Aquino served as Assistant Secretary for Rails in the Department of Transportation.
According to Philippines News Agency, PCO Secretary Cesar Chavez stated that Aquino will concentrate on the rationalization plan and digitalization of PTV-4. Additionally, she will oversee the rationalization plan of other state media agencies, including Radyo Pilipinas, News and Information Bureau, which manages the Philippine News Agency, as well as the Philippine Information Agency, Bureau of Communications Services, and IBC-13.
