Manila: Former Assistant Court Administrator and Supreme Court (SC) spokesperson Brian Keith Hosaka formally assumed his role as executive director of the Independent Commission for Infrastructure (ICI) on Thursday.
According to Philippines News Agency, Hosaka took his oath before SC Associate Justice Jose Midas Marquez, following his appointment by President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. The ICI is a fact-finding body tasked with investigating alleged corruption and irregularities in government flood control and related projects.
In an advisory, the ICI announced that all official statements and communications will be issued solely through its chairman, retired Justice Andres Reyes, and Hosaka, who will also serve as the body's spokesperson.
Before his appointment to ICI, Hosaka was a commissioner at the Governance Commission for GOCCs (GCG), where he played a key role in implementing reforms to improve the efficiency and accountability of government corporations. He notably led the technical team that developed the Restructuring Plan for the Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth), aimed at strengthening governance and rebuilding public trust in one of the country's largest state-run institutions.
