Fair Weather to Prevail Across PH on Monday

Manila: Fair weather will prevail throughout the country on Monday, the weather bureau said. "Super Typhoon Bavi is still far from the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) and does not affect the country's weather condition. Fair weather is expected throughout the archipelago," Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) weather specialist Aldczar Aurelio said. According to Philippines News Agency, isolated rain showers or localized thunderstorms are still likely. The country will experience light to moderate winds with slight to moderate seas. Meanwhile, Bavi, which will be named Inday once it enters the PAR, was located 2,355 kilometers east of southern Luzon as of 3 a.m. It is moving west-northwest at 15 km per hour. Aurelio further mentioned that Bavi is forecast to enter the PAR on Tuesday night or early Wednesday. Although it has a slim chance of making landfall, it could possibly enhance the southwest monsoon (habagat), leading to rains and strong winds in parts of the country.
