Fallen Soldier from Negros Oriental Given Well-Deserved Honor

Dumaguete: The body of the late Pfc. Julian Redondo Oracion, a Scout Ranger who was killed during a clash with suspected rebels in Oriental Mindoro, was transported to Negros Oriental on Monday. Oracion, aged 26, was among three soldiers from the First Scout Ranger Regiment of the Philippine Army who died in action in an encounter with suspected New People's Army rebels in Baco town on August 12. He was a native of La Libertad, Negros Oriental.

According to Philippines News Agency, the remains of Oracion were flown via a Philippine Air Force C-130 aircraft to the Dumaguete-Sibulan Airport. The 11th Infantry Battalion of the Philippine Army, led by Lt. Col. Sol Zaulda, conducted the military honors upon his arrival.

Oracion's mother, Susana, along with other family members, accompanied his remains to their hometown of La Libertad. In an interview, Susana expressed her grief, stating, "It is painful and that I did not expect this to happen to him." As a single mother to 12 children, with Julian being the ninth, she extended her gratitude to the government and various agencies for their support during this difficult time.
