Filipinos in Venezuela Advised to Stay Vigilant Following Maduro’s Capture

Manila: Filipinos in Venezuela are advised to stay vigilant and to remain indoors over developments in the security situation there after the United States carried out a large-scale attack and captured Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro. President Donald Trump in a Truth Social post on Saturday confirmed that the US successfully carried out the strike and has taken Maduro and his wife, Cilia Flores, out of Venezuela.

According to Philippines News Agency, the Philippine Embassy in Colombia, which has jurisdiction over Venezuela, reminded Filipinos to 'identify safe spaces for refuge.' The embassy emphasized the importance of monitoring news updates from credible sources and maintaining communication with fellow Filipinos through the Filcom WhatsApp group.

The advisory also included instructions for maintaining a list of emergency contacts and ensuring that updated contact information, such as name, address, mobile number, and email address, is submitted to the Embassy.
