N. Cotabato: Four Chinese nationals employed at a mosquito coil manufacturing company were detained for working without valid permits. The apprehension took place during a joint operation by security forces, as confirmed by military officials.
According to Philippines News Agency, the individuals-identified as Liu Dezhen, Tang Zhongyi, Tianpei Wu, and Wang Lian Xu-were working for Alpha Household Miscellaneous Chemical Products Manufacturing in Barangay Nueva Vida. The suspects did not resist arrest during a coordinated raid by the Army's 6th Infantry Division (6ID), Bureau of Immigration (BI), National Bureau of Investigation, Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency, and local police.
Lt. Col. Roden Orbon, spokesperson for the 6ID, stated that the Bureau of Immigration is currently determining the possibility of deporting the suspects while the investigation is ongoing. He mentioned accusations of fraudulent activities and smuggling involving the arrested individuals, though no specific details were provided.
The Bureau of Immigration and National Bureau of Investigation confirmed that the arrests were due to the lack of proper work permits. Maj. Gen. Donald Gumiran, commander of the 6ID, praised the inter-agency operation as an effective strategy for addressing illegal activities.
