Fuel Price Rollback Brings Relief to Antique±os

Antique: The rollback in fuel prices has brought relief to motorists in Antique. Lean Suelan, a tricycle driver plying the town proper of Sibalom, said in an interview on Wednesday that he only paid PHP78 for every liter of gasoline on Tuesday, down from PHP83 per liter. He mentioned that the reduction in fuel prices enabled him to take home a larger amount from his one-day tricycle operation, supporting the needs of his family more effectively.

According to Philippines News Agency, Suelan shared that before the rollback, he had to spend PHP400 on gasoline each day. He recalled that prior to the energy crisis, his daily fuel costs were only PHP200, which later doubled due to the rising gasoline prices. Motorcycle owner Darryl Vagilidad expressed similar sentiments, stating that he was fortunate to benefit from the rollback, which allowed him to pay PHP78 per liter of gasoline. Although the reduction is not substantial, he noted that it provides some savings.

Vagilidad and others in the community are hopeful that the rollback will continue or help prices return to normal levels. Car owner Abraham Cabrillos also considered availing of the price rollback, emphasizing its significance. He noted that even a PHP2 per liter reduction is a considerable aid. Gasoline stations in Antique implemented a PHP3.30 price rollback for every liter of premium gasoline and PHP3.40 for unleaded gasoline, while the price rollback for diesel was PHP24 per liter.
