San carlos: Zhynaiah Faye Gargaceran achieved victory in the girls' Under-12 category by defeating Queenie Mendoza with scores of 6-3, 6-3 at the Philta Age Group Championships held at the San Carlos Tennis Center in Negros Occidental.

According to Philippines News Agency, Gargaceran also succeeded in the U14 doubles along with her partner Kyla Panie. The duo claimed the title by overcoming Jerralyn Enyong and Evannyrich Bagacay with a 6-3, 7-6 (3) win. In the boys' U14 division, Francisco de Juan III emerged victorious. He bested James Andrio Estrella 6-1, 6-4 in the singles final and teamed up with Tyrone Caro to defeat Clemente Barrera III and Yo Raza Antonio To-ong 6-4, 6-1 in doubles.

In the U18 category, Hazlie John Malicay secured the boys' title by defeating Vincent John Nadal 7-5, 6-4 in the Group 1 event. Jhunreal Anthony Espinosa claimed the boys' U6 title with a 6-4, 7-5 win against Matthew Morris. However, Morris made a strong comeback in the U18 doubles final, partnering with Adrian Rodriguez to achieve a 6-3, 6-2 victory over Rynel Borgonia and Gabriel Ni±o Soon.

Other results included Mitchellen Cruspero's win against Princess Aquisha Obaniana, 6-0, 6-1, to seize the girls' U16 title. Ni±o Miguel Lambating took the boys' U12 title over Dale Diamante, who retired at 7-5. The top junior players in the country are now set to participate in the Philta National Age Group Championships scheduled from May 11 to 17 at the Rizal Memorial Tennis Center in Malate, Manila.
