GCash Partners with KwikCare to Expand HMO Plans via GInsure

Manila: GCash, through its GInsure platform, has partnered with KwikCare to offer health maintenance organization (HMO) coverage directly through the GCash app.

According to Philippines News Agency, KwikCare offers monthly HMO plans through GInsure, designed to make healthcare coverage more adaptable to different needs and circumstances. Starting at PHP995 per month, the service provides access to inpatient, outpatient, emergency, and laboratory services, along with cashless access to more than 2,000 accredited healthcare providers nationwide and benefits of up to PHP350,000, with additional personal accident coverage of up to PHP1 million. The offering also allows users to add family members.

In a media release on Thursday, Winsley Bangit, group head of New Business at Mynt, the parent company of GCash, emphasized the importance of reliable health coverage for Filipinos. "When breadwinners and their families can better access essential health services and manage unexpected medical emergencies without worrying about the costs, we're protecting not just their health, but their financial future," Bangit stated.

The new offering eliminates the need for high upfront costs, long-term commitments, or complicated paperwork, allowing users to sign up in minutes. To enroll in a KwikCare HMO plan, GCash users simply need to open the GCash app, navigate to "Explore the App," select "GInsure," and tap the "HMO" icon. Following enrollment, login credentials are sent to the user's registered email address and mobile number within 15 days.

Once their KwikCare plan is activated, users are required to download the Amaphil app from the Google Play Store or Apple App Store to access healthcare benefits, including booking consultations, requesting letters of authorization, and viewing partner hospitals.

Hamilton Angluben, chief executive officer of KwikCare, reiterated their mission to make quality healthcare more accessible. "Through our partnership with GCash, we're bringing reliable HMO coverage closer to millions by making it available through a platform they already use every day. We believe digital distribution is one of the most powerful ways to expand healthcare access and help more families protect both their health and their financial future," Angluben said.

The collaboration aims to empower Filipinos by enabling them to conveniently manage their health coverage, safeguard their savings from unexpected medical expenses, and navigate their healthcare needs with greater confidence.
