KUALA LUMPUR: The gold futures contract on Bursa Malaysia Derivatives closed firmer on Monday, in sync with the COMEX gold futures' stronger performance. At the close, spot month July 2024 contract rose to US$2,339.00 per troy ounce from US$2,335.70 per troy ounce last Friday, while August 2024 increased to US$2,355.00 per troy ounce from US$2,351.70 per troy ounce previously. September 2024, October 2024, December 2024 and February 2024 were all higher at US$2,355.00 per troy ounce compared with US$2,351.70 per troy ounce previously. Volume dropped to two lots from 16 lots on Friday, while open interest slid to 16 contracts from 36 contracts previously. The price of physical gold stood at US$2,330.90 per troy ounce, according to the London Bullion Market Association's afternoon fix on June 28. Source: BERNAMA News Agency
