Manila: Most of Luzon and Western Visayas will experience heavy rainfall caused by the prevailing southwest monsoon or "habagat", the weather bureau said on Monday. Monsoon rains will drench Benguet, Zambales, and Bataan, contributing to the wet weather conditions in these areas. According to Philippines News Agency, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) has forecast occasional rains across Metro Manila, Ilocos Region, the rest of Cordillera Administrative Region, Nueva Vizcaya, Tarlac, Nueva Ecija, Pampanga, Bulacan, Rizal, Cavite, Batangas, Oriental Mindoro, and Occidental Mindoro. Scattered rains and thunderstorms are predicted in Western Visayas, the rest of Cagayan Valley, the rest of Calabarzon, the rest of Mimaropa, Camarines Norte, and Camarines Sur. PAGASA has warned that moderate to heavy rains in these areas could lead to flash floods or landslides. The rest of the country will experience isolated rain showers caused by localized thunderstorms, which may also affect daily activities. Meanwhile, strong winds and rough seas are expected to prevail across the northern and western sections of Luzon. Elsewhere, winds will be moderate to strong with moderate to rough coastal waters, further impacting maritime activities in the region.
