Ilocos Norte: Members of the Filipino Chamber of Commerce of Hawaii are set to visit the province of Ilocos Norte from March 1 to 4 for a trade mission. The mission, composed of approximately 41 delegates, aims to explore opportunities to promote business and investment in the Philippines.

According to Philippines News Agency, Hawaii Governor Josh Green is expected to lead the delegation and meet with Ilocos Norte Governor Matthew Joseph Manotoc during the 2nd Philippines-Hawaii Sister Province Business Symposium on March 3 at the Fort Ilocandia Resort Hotel. Manotoc, who visited Hawaii in March last year, has been encouraging more Ilocanos in Hawaii to return and engage in business within the province to maximize economic growth and development.

Manotoc mentioned that the Hawaii-based Filipino community can enhance their assets in the province, which is currently the fastest growing economy in the Ilocos Region. Professionals and investors have been invited to share their expertise and take advantage of the fiscal and non-fiscal incentives offered by the government.

The Ilocos Norte Trade and Investment Promotions Center is preparing to host the event, which will include focused group discussions on workforce development, import/export opportunities, sustainability and energy, and tourism. The delegates will also meet with their industry counterparts in the province and explore the potential of local products for possible export.
