Naga City: A high-value drug suspect was arrested in Barangay Mabolo during a buy-bust operation on Thursday night, resulting in the seizure of PHP1.49 million worth of suspected shabu. The suspect, identified only as 'Den,' a resident of San Miguel St. in Zone 4 of Barangay Mabolo, was apprehended by operatives from Naga City Police Station 5, the City Drug Enforcement Unit, the City Intelligence Unit, and the Naga City Mobile Force Company.
According to Philippines News Agency, Police Regional Office 5 (PRO-5) Director Brig. Gen. Andre Dizon confirmed on Friday that 'Den' had been tagged as a high-value individual (HVI) on the regional drug watchlist due to his alleged involvement in the local drug trade. Authorities recovered approximately 220 grams of suspected shabu during the operation.
The confiscated items were immediately marked, inventoried, and documented in the presence of the suspect and required witnesses, in compliance with Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. Dizon commended the operatives for their swift and coordinated actions, reiterating the police force's ongoing dedication to combating illegal drug activities in the Bicol Region.
