Manila: Hotels and resorts in various destinations are offering huge markdowns in rates and packages in an ongoing sale led by the Hotel Sales and Marketing Association (HSMA), one of the country's largest hospitality groups.
According to Philippines News Agency, the Summer Online Sale (SOS), running from April 24 to May 24, is joined by a total of 69 hotels and resorts nationwide. As of Thursday, the HSMA said more than a thousand discounted hotel, dining, and activity vouchers are still available for purchase at its official platform.
The HSMA stated that the SOS, originally held around September, was moved to an earlier date to provide Filipinos a smarter way to plan ahead, be it for city staycations or beach travel. Renowned brands participating in the SOS from popular beach destinations such as Boracay and Iloilo include the Chancellor Hotel Boracay, Belmont Hotel Boracay, Savoy Hotel Boracay, Crimson Resort and Spa, Movenpick Resort and Spa, and Discovery Boracay.
In Cebu, the establishments joining the sale include Marco Polo Plaza Cebu, Bluewater Sumilon Beach Resort, Bluewater Maribago, Mercure Mactan Cebu, Savoy Hotel Mactan, Quest Hotel and Conference Center Cebu, and others. Additional hotels and resorts from regions like Palawan, Davao, and Bohol, as well as North and South Luzon, are also part of this year's SOS.
Metro Manila's participating establishments feature Discovery Suites, Richmonde Hotel Ortigas, The Linden Suites, Luxent Hotel, and several others. HSMA board member Amie Villena reported that the sale has so far sold over 300 vouchers worth PHP2.13 million as of Thursday.
In 2025, the SOS generated PHP15.95 million in sales, with more than 3,400 hotel and dining vouchers purchased.
