Butuan city: Personnel from the Regional Highway Patrol (HPG) Unit 13 conducted a surprise inspection Friday morning at the main gate of the Police Regional Office 13 (PRO-13), checking vehicles driven by Philippine National Police (PNP) personnel for compliance with licensing and registration requirements.
According to Philippines News Agency, the operation was carried out in coordination with PRO-13 and the Integrity Monitoring and Enforcement Group, aiming to ensure that police officers operating four-wheeled vehicles and motorcycles possess valid driver's licenses, updated vehicle registrations, and other necessary documents.
HPG-13 reported that about 70 vehicles, including motorcycles entering and exiting the PRO-13 headquarters, were inspected. All were found to have complete documentation, and drivers-who are PNP personnel-presented valid licenses during the check.
"The initiative is part of the PNP's broader internal cleansing campaign, which seeks to demonstrate transparency and accountability within the ranks," said PRO-13 information chief Maj. Jennifer Omiter in an interview on Friday. She added that the operation highlights PRO-13's dedication to upholding the law and reassuring the public that unregistered or questionable vehicles are not tolerated within the force.
Omiter noted that no violations were reported during the inspection, as the owners were able to present updated vehicle registrations and driver's licenses.
