Iligan City to Implement New Road Safety Measures

Iligan city: Iligan City will implement additional mandatory road safety measures to decrease traffic accidents, as discussed by its City Council through a proposed decree, an official said Thursday. During the 11th City Council session, Councilor Thomas Derrick Siao passed a resolution for the use of luminous or reflectorized paints on roads as safety indicators.

According to Philippines News Agency, the measure aims to ensure safety in the streets by emphasizing preventive measures against potential threats and dangers. The initiative includes the addition of extra pedestrian lanes, traffic markings, and other critical traffic indicators in various parts of the city, particularly around school and business zones.

The City Council members have taken these steps as a precaution, responding to the city government's growing concerns about the safety of public and private vehicles, as well as commuters who may be at risk.
