Iligan City Unveils Advanced Digital Traffic Management System

Iligan city: The Iligan City government has officially launched a cutting-edge digital traffic and parking management system (TPMS) to enhance the efficiency of traffic flow across the city's major streets. The initiative, inaugurated on Tuesday, is part of a broader effort to modernize the city's infrastructure and streamline traffic enforcement.

According to Philippines News Agency, Mayor Frederick Siao emphasized the system's role in ensuring transparency and fairness in the enforcement of traffic laws. The TPMS has been developed in collaboration with the Land Transportation Office and the city's Traffic and Parking Management Office, reflecting a comprehensive approach to urban traffic management.

The city has been preparing for this launch since last year, conducting preliminary tests of the TPMS, which incorporates Artificial Intelligence technology to assist law enforcement. This system is designed to alert traffic violators, encouraging them to address their infractions and penalties before facing account suspension or the risk of non-renewal of their licenses.

One of the key features of the TPMS is its centralized record-keeping ability, which ensures up-to-date compliance with current traffic rules and regulations while maintaining detailed records of violations. Additionally, the system aims to eliminate bribery between traffic enforcers and motorists by transitioning all payment processes to an online platform, thereby increasing accountability and reducing corruption.
