Ilocos Police Confiscate PHP70.4 Million in Illegal Drugs in December 2025

Ilocos: The Ilocos Police Regional Office (PRO-1) has confiscated PHP70.4 million worth of illegal drugs from various operations in December last year, an official said Monday. In an interview, Maj. Divina Albino, chief of the PRO-1 information office, said the total amount came from 796 grams of shabu, 525.58 grams of dried marijuana, 323,350 pieces of marijuana plants, and 8,000 pieces of marijuana seedlings seized during the period.

According to Philippines News Agency, among the high-yielding operations was in Barangays Danac and Licungan in Sugpon, Ilocos Sur. "As part of the operation, authorities destroyed 57 marijuana plantations covering 64,576 square meters in the mountainous area from Dec. 9 to 12 last year," Albino added. She noted that in the operation, 283,400 fully grown marijuana plants and 8,000 seedlings valued at PHP57 million were destroyed.

The 127 anti-illegal drugs operations in the region last December resulted in the arrest of 126 individuals. 'The successful operations show our commitment to eradicating illegal drugs in Ilocos. We will keep enforcing the law with respect for human rights to ensure community safety," PRO-1 director Brig. Gen. Dindo Reyes said in a statement.
