Ilocos Police Seize PHP8.3 Million Worth of Illegal Drugs in August

Ilocos: The Police Regional Office 1 (PRO-1) of the Ilocos Region confiscated illegal drugs valued at PHP8.3 million in a series of operations conducted throughout August, as stated by an official on Thursday.

According to Philippines News Agency, Maj. Divina Albino, the information officer for PRO-1, revealed during a phone interview that the seized drugs included 668 grams of dried marijuana leaves, 10,250 fully grown marijuana plants, 1,000 marijuana seedlings, and 899.66 grams of suspected shabu. These were confiscated during 156 anti-illegal drug operations carried out in the region.

Albino further noted that these operations led to the arrest of 182 individuals involved in drug-related activities. She emphasized the crucial role played by local government units, law enforcement agencies, other government bodies, and stakeholders in achieving this significant milestone in the fight against illegal drugs.

The vigilance of the communities in reporting and resisting illegal activities was also highlighted as a contributing factor to the success of these operations.

PRO-1 Director Brig. Gen. Dindo Reyes extended his commendations to the personnel involved in the operations for their unwavering dedication and professionalism. He assured that PRO-1 remains steadfast in its anti-drug campaign, driven by principles of discipline, integrity, and community partnership.
