Iloilo city: The city government is urging residents to actively participate in monitoring fuel prices by reporting any suspicious price changes through the "Gas Station Concerns" feature in the eGovPH app.

According to Philippines News Agency, this initiative was discussed during a meeting of the Local Price Coordinating Council (LPCC) convened by Mayor Raisa Tre±as. The "Gas Station Concerns" feature, launched by the Department of Energy (DOE) in collaboration with the Department of Information and Communications Technology, aims to provide a faster and more accessible platform for the public to report consumer issues related to gasoline stations.

The addition of this feature expands DOE's consumer assistance channels, which previously included the DOE Official Facebook Messenger, email, telephone hotline, and Hotline 8888. Mayor Tre±as emphasized the importance of public participation in monitoring, urging residents to use the "e-report" feature of the eGovPH app to report any gas stations suspected of exploiting fuel prices or violating pricing regulations on essential commodities.

The LPCC's meeting sought to improve price monitoring of basic, essential, and prime commodities, including petroleum products and related items. To ensure that market price updates are timely, the council agreed to submit a weekly monitoring report every Friday.
