Iloilo City Urges Unaccredited Labs to Report for Verification

Iloilo City: The local government is calling on all diagnostic clinical laboratories operating within the city without proper accreditation to report to the City Health Office for verification. Mayor Jerry Tre±as released on Monday a list of 44 diagnostic laboratories that have complied with city regulations following an inspection conducted by the Clinical Laboratory Inspection Task Force from March 28 to April 4, 2025.

According to Philippines News Agency, the task force was created through Executive Order No. 028 in response to alarming reports of laboratories issuing diagnostic results without actual patient specimen collection or with mismatched samples and results. Mayor Tre±as emphasized that fabricated or inaccurate medical diagnostic results are detrimental to the health and safety of the public, stressing the importance of accurate lab results, especially since they are required for the issuance of the City Health Card.

City Health Officer Dr. Mary Ann Diaz led the inspection, which confirmed accredited laboratories across various districts, including Arevalo, Lapuz, Molo, La Paz, Jaro I and II, and City Proper. Labs not on the accredited list are urged to coordinate with the City Health Office and present necessary permits and documentation. The city aims to ensure only legitimate and properly licensed laboratories operate to safeguard public health.
