ITCZ and Shear Line to Cause Widespread Rainfall Across the Philippines Thursday.

Manila: Three weather systems, namely the shear line, the intertropical convergence zone (ITCZ), and the northeast monsoon (amihan), are forecasted to bring cloudy skies with rains over most parts of the Philippines on Thursday. According to Philippines News Agency, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) released its latest weather bulletin at 4 a.m., indicating that the ITCZ will primarily affect Caraga, Davao Region, Northern Mindanao, Eastern Visayas, Bohol, Siquijor, Basilan, Sulu, and Tawi-Tawi. These areas are expected to experience cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms. The shear line is predicted to impact the regions of Cagayan Valley and Cordillera, as well as the provinces of Aurora and Quezon, resulting in cloudy skies accompanied by rains and thunderstorms. Meanwhile, Metro Manila, Ilocos Region, the rest of Central Luzon, the rest of Calabarzon, Occidental Mindoro, Oriental Mindoro, and Marinduque are forecasted to have partly c loudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains due to the influence of the northeast monsoon. The rest of the country will likely witness partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms, primarily attributed to localized thunderstorms.
