Manila: Foreign Affairs Secretary Enrique Manalo announced that Japan and the Philippines are set to sign multiple bilateral agreements during the visit of Japanese Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba to Manila next week. Manalo stated that while the exact number of agreements is yet to be confirmed, discussions will encompass a broad range of political, economic, and cultural issues.
According to Philippines News Agency, the Department of Foreign Affairs has not yet disclosed the specific agreements that are expected to be signed. Manalo emphasized the importance of the visit, highlighting the ongoing efforts by both governments to strengthen their strategic partnership.
The visit is seen as a testament to the strong and growing cooperation between Manila and Tokyo. Malaca±ang confirmed that Prime Minister Ishiba will be in the Philippines from April 29 to 30, where he will meet with President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. to discuss various aspects of bilateral relations, including economic and development cooperation, political and defense engagements, and people-to-people exchanges.
