Japan Ratifies ACSAs with Philippines, Netherlands, and New Zealand

Tokyo: The Diet, Japan's parliament, ratified acquisition and cross-servicing agreements (ACSAs) with the Philippines, the Netherlands, and New Zealand. These agreements were approved with a majority vote at a plenary meeting of the House of Councillors, the upper chamber.

According to Philippines News Agency, the ACSAs facilitate the reciprocal provision of fuel and munitions between the Japanese Self-Defense Forces and the militaries of the three countries. The ruling bloc and some opposition parties, including the Constitutional Democratic Party of Japan and Komeito, supported the pacts.

With this approval, Japan now maintains ACSAs with a total of 11 countries, which include the United States, Britain, and Germany.
