Malaca±ang: Malaca±ang on Wednesday maintained that Presidential Communications Office (PCO) Acting Secretary Jay Ruiz is still the head of the agency. Palace Press Officer Claire Castro revealed she has not received any information suggesting that Ruiz will be replaced amid efforts to recalibrate the Marcos administration.
According to Philippines News Agency, Castro stated, "Sa aking pagkakaalam wala pa po (As far as I know, there is none yet)," when asked to confirm reports about the alleged changes in the PCO leadership. She affirmed, "Nananatili pong Acting Secretary si Jay Ruiz (Jay Ruiz remains Acting Secretary)."
Ruiz was reappointed by President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr., after his ad interim appointment as PCO secretary was deemed bypassed by the Commission on Appointments (CA) following Congress's adjournment sine die on June 13. The CA was unable to deliberate on Ruiz's ad interim appointment due to lack of time.
Ruiz previously expressed gratitude to Marcos for his continued trust and pledged to continue working "with professionalism, integrity, and purpose."
