Manila: Senator Panfilo Lacson has raised concerns over portions of Laguna Lake allegedly reclaimed illegally by Taguig City, advocating for their forfeiture in favor of the government. Lacson's remarks came after a meeting with officials of the Philippine Reclamation Authority (PRA) where significant irregularities were uncovered.

According to Philippines News Agency, Lacson revealed these findings in a post on X, highlighting issues such as ghost slope protection projects and the unlawful reclamation of land around Laguna Lake. Lacson's post also accused Senator Alan Peter Cayetano of employing harassment tactics related to these activities. The senator emphasized collaboration with various government agencies, including the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) and the Laguna Lake Development Authority (LLDA), to address these illegal activities and reclaim the disputed land.

Lacson further alleged that PRA officials confirmed Cayetano's use of intimidation tactics during the budget deliberations for the Office of the President in November 2025. The PRA, which operates under the Office of the President, reportedly faced physical intimidation during on-site inspections of the C6 Lakeshore area, where the reclamation activities are said to occur.

Evidence presented by Lacson links Cayetano to unauthorized reclamation projects along Taguig's lakeshore development. These projects reportedly bypassed necessary permits from the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) and were funded with appropriations intended for slope protection.

Lacson detailed a pattern of harassment and intimidation, particularly during committee hearings, directed at individuals knowledgeable about the projects. He accused Cayetano of exerting control over DPWH operations in Taguig City, including the replacement of district engineers who acted independently. Lacson also suggested the existence of a 33-percent kickback scheme associated with infrastructure projects in the city.
